Egg Donor FAQs
We are committed to helping you understand all aspects of this process.
Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions we get from clients who are embarking down the path of family building with the help of an egg donor. We know you will have more questions, so please reach out to us and we can schedule a a free consultation.
Once we have a thorough understanding of what you are looking for, we will work to pull as many profiles as possible within the first week. The number of profiles we will be able to show you will be dependent on your search criteria, if you have a more specific request that will limit the number of profiles. However, we will send you as many profiles as we can, and provide you with enough information on each candidate to make an informed decision. We are committed to finding you the perfect candidate for you within a 4 week search period.
Every agency has a unique way of presenting their egg donor candidates. You will typically see a thorough review of her health history, education background, interests, special skills, family health history, and a photo gallery that will include photos of the donor throughout her life (childhood through current). Some agencies have videos of the donors available, this is a great tool when selecting between a few donors, it also helps you understand the way she presents herself, her mannerisms and hear her voice. The more information we can provide you about the donor, the better – so don’t be afraid to ask if you have a special request.
The process will be to find a candidate you are interested in and have the physician at the clinic you are working with review her prior cycle records (including any genetic carrier screening that may have been completed) to ensure she is a suitable candidate for your family building journey.
If the physician approves her records, then we will introduce you to the agency to confirm the match between you and the selected egg donor. This step often involves an agency agreement – before you sign anything with the agency we will ask your fertility attorney to review – just to be sure everything is outlined appropriately. Once the agency agreement is signed, the agency will send a match sheet over to the clinic and get the egg donor’s in-person medical screening with the physician scheduled.

No. The egg donor will likely be required to visit the IVF clinic you are working with for her medical screening appointment and for the egg retrieval. Most appointments at the start of the egg retrieval cycle can be completed locally, so long as she has an IVF center local to her for these important ultrasound appointments to monitor the progress.
If the donor is not local to the clinic that is where you will see high travel expenses. Finding a local egg donor is not out of the question, but we encourage you not to let the location of the donor be a huge factor.
Yes!! Your location does not matter when it comes to working with an egg donor. We would love to assist you on this amazing journey!
